Join Master Gardeners as they explore the basics of tree ID, from leaves to bark to twigs! You will learn new things about the trees of Ohio throughout the program, which you can implement to make your walks in nature (or just down your street) more enjoyable!
Your instructor will show you how to use a Tree ID Key to identify trees in Ohio at the start of class- each participant will receive a copy of the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point’s Summer Tree ID Key and Tree Identification Terms.
In addition, participants will be introduced to the ITreeTools.org website, which you can download on your smartphone prior to class, though not required for the full experience. Weather pending, we will end class with a gentle guided tree ID walk to put your new skills to the test!
