Sogetsu Ikebana is the art of Japanese floral arranging- creating simple but powerful arrangements, and encouraging creative expression through floral patterns. Columbus Sogetsu Ikebana instructor, Michelle Rogers, will walk you through the fundamental concepts of Sogetsu and guide you in creating a simple but stunning arrangement that exemplifies Sogetsu- the ability for anyone to arrange flowers any time, anywhere, with any materials.
This class is perfect for all students from beginners to Sogetsu enthusiasts alike, and all students will leave with an arrangement to celebrate spring. All materials will be provided, and students will leave the class with a shallow container, kenzan, and their arrangement. It is suggested to bring a box or container to transport your work home.
Please note: The class sample photo below is a sample of the style of Ikebana, specific flower types will vary for the class.
