This new 12,000 sq. ft. facility provides a dedicated space for the Conservatory's expanding outreach and education programs.
The hand-hewn timber frame from a 200-year-old Richland County barn, which was set to be dismantled in 2014, was relocated to the Conservatory’s grounds earlier this year and has been reconstructed as the framework for this new facility.
The barn serves as a one-of-a-kind venue for the Conservatory’s gardening, cooking, art and wellness classes, and provides much-needed space for new programs such as gardening conferences and symposia, scout camp overs, lectures and performances.
A main hall features warm wood interiors, a soaring roofline, built-in bar, and stone fireplace. A covered porch overlooks colorful gardens. A demonstration kitchen, A/V capabilities, and lower level meeting rooms make the space ideal for an array of educational and social gatherings.
